Discover the precious animal heritage of the protected site of the Thau lagoon, France

The Thau lagoon, a Natura 2000 site, one third of its surface is home to one of the largest meadows of Zostera on the Mediterranean shores in Europe.

These marine meadows participate in the oxygenation of water, filter particles and limit erosion and act as a nursery for fishes and shelters for emblematic species as the fan mussel (Pinna nobilis).
